The Loud Silence of God
Share
Sometimes, when it comes to having a relationship with God, we all go through what we like to call "dry patches". It feels as if God isn't there. It's like he isn't there for us no matter what we say to him or how we feel about this "dry patch". Although it feels this way, we couldn't be farther from the truth. He is right in front of us everywhere we go. We can see him when we take a look at the beauty of his creations. Small and subtle things such as looking up at the clouds that rule over the skies, or the trees that join together to create a forest. His beauty is everywhere, it is up to us on if we want to see it or not. Sometimes we need the silence to understand all he has done for us. Without the silence, we would never be able to appreciate the times when he feels close to us. Think of it just like the weather. When it's hot outside for a week straight we say "I hate this weather. It's too hot to do anything", but this attitude can change. Having a warm sunny day after a rainy one feels amazing. God's silence is just like a rainy day, and when he feels close is the same as a warm day. Without the silence, we can never appreciate the times we feel close to him.
