Why are you afraid of failure?

Picture this; you work a corporate job in the tech industry. Your dream is to become a vice president in the company within the near future. You work overtime every day paying close attention to every detail in the work you report to your peers and boss. One day a managerial job opening is presented to you by none other than your boss. He encourages you to apply and you jot him down as a reference since he knows how hard you work and the quality of work you produce. Your heart jumps and feels as if it is going to beat out of your chest. This is the first opportunity you have to move up within the company, and is one step closer to your goals. You start to fill out your application for the position but suddenly you start to have doubts. There's a little voice in the back of your head asking you "what if you don't get the position? What if your aren't qualified or ready the this type of responsibility yet"? Everyone has been in this same position of doubt. No matter what the situation or circumstances were, we have all doubted not only our abilities, but ourselves as a person. In situations like these, do not trust only yourself, but trust God. There is a quote that says "We choose the goals and aspirations of our lives, but God establishes our steps". Trust in the Lord with everything you do. Understand that if something doesn't work out, you either have more to learn, or God is protecting you from something. These are not failures; they are necessary steps to build the foundation of who you are to become. With that being said, do not listen to the doubts placed in the back of your mind. Take risks and push yourself to be better, and allow God to establish your steps and build your foundation along the way. Place your trust in him, and he will not fail you.
